12 IS NOT ENOUGH

Students from underserved communities often lack the resources and supports that enable an individual to freely explore the various postsecondary options available to them. Making an uninformed decision can straddle a high school graduate with decades of debt and little to no means of career growth. 12 Plus’s mission is to not only ensure students continue their education beyond 12th grade but also provide the information and guidance necessary so that a student’s continued education is well-informed, sustainable, and fruitful. From the beginning, we have dedicated our energy to helping students and school communities that are historically impoverished, marginalized, and under-resourced, especially as it pertains to post-secondary education access. What started in Philadelphia has now expanded into the entire Camden City School District.

The numbers are startling. The implications wide. It's time to take action.

Over a decade ago, 12 Plus embarked on a journey as a modest, volunteer-driven mentorship initiative, serving a small group of seniors at a single partner school.

We soon recognized that in order to support a school community, every student's success was crucial. So we embraced a comprehensive school model, one that supports every student throughout their journey—not just a select few.

Since 2012, 12 Plus has forged partnerships with high schools in underserved communities, fostering positive and meaningful environments that redefine what is possible.

OUR MISSION

To increase educational equity by building school cultures that inspire academic achievement and empower students to succeed in education and opportunities beyond 12th grade.

OUR METHOD

We partner with schools in underserved communities to build PLUS Centers and provide individualized academic and postsecondary advising for all students to ensure that all students graduate with a dedicated postsecondary path.

OUR VISION

To empower and equip all young adults to become community change agents by pursuing life-long learning through post-secondary education and career development.

OUR PARTNERS

12 Plus’s work would not be possible without the profound generosity of our growing number of partners. We want to recognize their belief in our work and willingness to partner with us every step of the way. Together, we believe that every student deserves the right to a quality education, and we won’t stop until that becomes a reality.
